About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This program helps you transition into a Pharmacist role by deepening your understanding of store, district, and regional operations.
What you'll do#
- Complete a training roadmap within 120 days of graduation.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly.
- Fill prescriptions promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures for production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under pharmacist supervision.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as putting away deliveries and cycle counts.
- Deliver patient health care services including immunizations and point-of-care testing.
- Complete training to obtain Technician Immunizer status.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and ethical principles.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
- Valid intern or technician licensure.
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to work in your home store and travel to other locations across the market.
- Ability to lift, scan, and bag items, and remain upright for extended periods.
- Strong focus, mathematical reasoning, and the ability to pivot between tasks quickly.
