About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition your academic learning into real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This role focuses on store, district, and regional operations while preparing you for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation.
- Deepen your understanding of patient safety, error prevention, quality assurance, and drug utilization review.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Follow all company standard operating procedures at each workstation.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and care.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as cycle counts and medication deliveries.
- Travel to stores in the market to work shifts as needed.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and company policies.
- Support immunizations where permissible, including educating patients and monitoring for adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the training program.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure.
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks over long periods and pivot quickly between responsibilities.
- Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and remain mobile for extended periods.
