About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This role prepares you for a future Pharmacist position by deepening your knowledge of pharmacy operations, patient safety, and professional standards.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations.
- Provide patient care by offering counseling, fielding medical questions, and taking telephonic prescriptions from prescribers.
- Support immunizations, including patient education, documentation, and administration where permitted by law.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities such as cycle counts and medication deliveries.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ethical principles.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or in the process of obtaining one.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 20 lbs, and reaching.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to use math to solve pharmacy-related problems.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends, and travel to stores across the market as needed.
