About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice to prepare for a future Pharmacist role. You will work under the direction of your preceptor and District Leader to complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This role focuses on deepening your understanding of patient safety, quality assurance, and pharmacy professional standards.
What you'll do#
- Ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while following pharmacy workflow procedures.
- Assist the team in maintaining smooth pharmacy operations and contribute to a high-performing environment.
- Provide caring service by addressing patient questions, counseling, and soliciting medical history information.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and contact them to clarify or change prescriptions when necessary.
- Support immunization services by educating patients, monitoring for reactions, and documenting information.
- Complete inventory tasks such as putting away deliveries, cycle counts, and returns.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members as your experience grows.
- Travel to different stores within the market to work shifts as business needs require.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to starting the training program.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- 1+ years of work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Strong communication skills, mathematical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to maintain focus, pivot between tasks, and perform physical requirements like lifting up to 20 lbs and standing for extended periods.
