About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition your academic learning into real-world practice. This role is designed to prepare you for a future as a Pharmacist by immersing you in retail pharmacy operations. You will complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation while working under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader.
What you'll do#
- Support pharmacy teams in delivering the company brand promise and maintaining smooth daily operations.
- Fill prescriptions with a focus on accuracy, safety, and promptness.
- Perform workflow procedures including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Offer counseling to patients, field medical questions, and take telephonic prescriptions.
- Call prescribers to clarify orders or facilitate medication changes.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete inventory tasks such as cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and putting away deliveries.
- Deliver patient health services, including preparing and administering vaccines, educating patients, and monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Deepen your knowledge of patient safety, error prevention, and quality assurance.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or in the process of obtaining one.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe.
- 1+ years of related experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to work in your home store and travel to other locations across the market.
- Strong attention to detail, mathematical reasoning, and the ability to pivot between tasks quickly.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
