About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school training to real-world practice while preparing for a full Pharmacist role. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This role focuses on deepening your understanding of pharmacy operations, patient safety, and professional standards.
What you'll do#
- Apply didactic pharmacy learning to daily practice.
- Fill prescriptions accurately and safely while following standard operating procedures.
- Provide caring service and patient counseling to help customers navigate their health care.
- Offer immunizations and clinical services as permitted by law and training.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and communicate with prescribers to clarify orders.
- Support pharmacy management by coaching team members and sharing best practices.
- Complete inventory activities, including cycle counts and medication deliveries.
- Travel to various stores in the market as needed to meet business requirements.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
- Valid intern or technician licensure.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Proficiency in concentrating on tasks over long periods and pivoting quickly between responsibilities.
- Strong attention to detail for confirming prescription information and label accuracy.
- Mathematical skills to solve problems related to medication dispensing.
- Ability to identify and resolve challenging patient or colleague interactions.
- Ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods, with the capacity to lift up to 20 lbs.
