About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition your academic learning into a clinical setting. This role is designed to prepare you for a future Pharmacist position through hands-on experience and a comprehensive training roadmap. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to refine your skills in pharmacy operations, patient safety, and professional standards.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation.
- Ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly while filling prescriptions safely and accurately.
- Follow workflow procedures at production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off stations.
- Provide caring service and assist patients with medical questions under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and coordinate with prescribers to clarify medication orders.
- Deliver health care services including immunizations and point-of-care testing.
- Educate patients about vaccines and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Perform basic inventory activities and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program.
- Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks for extended periods and pivot quickly between responsibilities.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication, including active listening.
- Mathematical skills to solve problems related to prescription dispensing.
- Ability to identify challenging interactions and choose effective courses of action.
- Physical ability to remain mobile and upright for extended periods.
