About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This role prepares you for future pharmacist responsibilities by deepening your knowledge of operations, patient safety, and quality assurance.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Follow all company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at every workstation.
- Provide caring service and contribute to positive patient experiences.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and clarify details with prescribers.
- Coach, train, and mentor pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities like cycle counts and returns.
- Support immunizations by educating patients, obtaining informed consent, and monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Deliver additional patient health care services as permitted by law.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the program.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or in the process of obtaining one.
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to pivot quickly between tasks and maintain focus.
- Strong mathematical skills for prescription calculations.
- Ability to work at your home store and travel to other locations across the market.
