About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition your academic training into real-world practice. This role is designed to prepare you for a future Pharmacist position by immersing you in store, district, and regional operations. You will complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation while working under the guidance of a preceptor and District Leader.
What you'll do#
- Apply didactic knowledge to pharmacy operations to ensure prescriptions are filled safely, accurately, and promptly.
- Operate pharmacy workstations including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Offer to counsel, field medical questions, and solicit medical history information under pharmacist supervision.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete inventory tasks such as cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting bin inventories.
- Maintain compliance with controlled substance dispensing and patient privacy regulations.
- Deliver patient care services including immunizations and point-of-care testing where allowable.
- Support immunization services by educating patients, obtaining informed consent, and monitoring for adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the program.
- Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure.
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service is preferred.
- Ability to become immunization certified is preferred.
- Ability to work in your home store and travel to other locations in the market is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is preferred.
