About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition your academic training into real-world practice. You will follow a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation to prepare for a future Pharmacist role. This position involves working under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to master store, district, and regional operations while focusing on patient safety, quality assurance, and professional standards.
What you'll do#
- Apply didactic learning to daily pharmacy operations.
- Ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations.
- Provide caring service and show empathy to patients.
- Field medical questions, offer to counsel, and solicit patient medical history under pharmacist supervision.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities, including cycle counts and medication deliveries.
- Deliver patient health care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing where permitted.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions.
- Travel to other stores in the market to work shifts as needed.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the program.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
- Valid intern or technician licensure.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Strong focus, attention to detail, and mathematical reasoning.
- Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe.
- Effective communication and problem-resolution skills.
- Customer service and team orientation.
