About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition your academic training into real-world pharmacy practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to complete a training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This role prepares you for future Pharmacist responsibilities by deepening your understanding of pharmacy operations, patient safety, and professional standards.
What you'll do#
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and facilitate medication changes where allowed by state regulation.
- Complete basic inventory activities, including cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting bin inventories.
- Administer vaccines as a Technician Immunizer once all state regulations and training requirements are met.
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily operations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off tasks.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program.
- Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Capability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
