About the role#
As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice while preparing for a future Pharmacist role. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This role focuses on deepening your understanding of patient safety, pharmacy operations, and professional standards.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Support pharmacy operations, including inventory activities like cycle counts and medication deliveries.
- Provide caring service by fielding medical questions, offering to counsel patients, and taking telephonic prescriptions from prescribers.
- Deliver patient health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, upon obtaining required training and status.
- Educate patients about vaccines and monitor for potential adverse reactions.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Maintain flexibility to work in your home store and travel to other locations across the market as needed.
What you'll need#
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to obtain pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and remain upright for extended periods.
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service is preferred.
