About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role provides hands-on experience with store, district, and regional operations as you prepare for a future Pharmacist role. You will assist the team in maintaining smooth operations and providing quality patient care.
What you'll do#
- Complete a training roadmap focused on Key Learning Experiences.
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily operations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Ensure prescriptions are filled accurately and promptly while following company Standard Operating Procedures.
- Provide caring service to patients, including offering immunizations and point-of-care testing.
- Educate patients about vaccines and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Perform inventory tasks like cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and processing deliveries.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members as you gain experience.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- At least 1 year of experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Strong attention to detail, mathematical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work at your home store and travel to other locations within the market.
- Ability to become immunization certified.

- Location: Aurora, Colorado.
- This is a part-time, on-site, paid internship.
- This position is based on a rolling term.
