About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to prepare you for a future role as a Pharmacist. This program provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations through hands-on experience and key learning activities.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on key learning experiences.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Provide caring service to patients and follow company standard operating procedures at every workstation.
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Perform inventory activities such as putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts.
- Deliver patient health care services including immunizations and point-of-care testing where permitted by law.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions for immunizations and document patient information.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into, or active enrollment in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required by state regulations.
- Ability to work in your home store and travel to other locations within the market as needed (preferred).
- One or more years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service (preferred).
- Ability to become immunization certified (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (preferred).

- Compensation: $20.00 - $23.75 per hour.
