About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role helps you gain an overview of store, district, and regional operations while preparing you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap and follow all company SOPs.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by offering caring service, fielding medical questions, and taking telephonic prescriptions.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities like cycle counts and medication deliveries.
- Support immunizations by educating patients, monitoring for adverse reactions, and collecting patient information.
- Comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- 1+ years of experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Strong communication, active listening, and mathematical reasoning skills.
- Physical ability to remain upright for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, reach overhead, and perform repetitive finger movements.
- Ability to work at your home store and travel to other locations in the market as needed.
