About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will bridge the gap between your pharmacy school education and real-world practice. You will complete a comprehensive training roadmap focused on Key Learning Experiences to prepare for a future Pharmacist role. This position involves supporting pharmacy operations, ensuring patient safety, and contributing to an inclusive team environment.
What you'll do#
- Support pharmacy teams to meet brand promises and maintain smooth daily operations.
- Fill prescriptions with accuracy and safety while following standard operating procedures.
- Provide caring service to patients at pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off workstations.
- Counsel patients and field medical questions under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and clarify details with prescribers.
- Perform basic inventory tasks such as processing deliveries and cycle counts.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to other team members.
- Deliver patient health care services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowed by law.
- Educate patients on vaccine importance and monitor for potential adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into or active enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- At least 1 year of experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work nights and weekends as required.
