About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role helps you gain an overview of store, district, and regional operations while preparing you for a future Pharmacist role. You will assist the team in ensuring pharmacy operations run safely and efficiently.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap and follow all company SOPs at each workstation.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures for production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and care.
- Offer to counsel, field medical questions, and solicit medical history from patients.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication changes.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as cycle counts and putting away deliveries.
- Deliver patient health care services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing.
- Support immunizations by educating patients and monitoring for adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- At least 1 year of work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Flexibility to work in your home store and travel to other locations in the market as needed.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including availability for nights and weekends.
Location & details#
- Location: Southlake, Texas.
- This is a part-time, on-site position.
- Pay range: $20.00 - $23.75 per hour.
