About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will complete a comprehensive training roadmap focused on Key Learning Experiences while preparing for future responsibilities as a pharmacist. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and gain an overview of store, district, and regional operations.
What you'll do#
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities such as cycle counts and medication deliveries.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences with empathy and care.
- Deliver patient health care services including immunizations and point-of-care testing.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ethical principles.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into or active enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings is preferred.
- Ability to become immunization certified is preferred.
- Ability to work in your home store and travel to other locations in the market is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is preferred.

- Compensation: $20.50 - $42.00 per hour.
