About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will follow a comprehensive training roadmap designed to prepare you for a future role as a Pharmacist. This program provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations while you gain hands-on experience under the direction of a preceptor.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly, safely, and accurately.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide caring service and contribute to positive patient experiences.
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and call prescribers to clarify information.
- Deliver health care services, such as immunizations, and educate patients about vaccines.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions.
- Complete basic inventory activities, including cycle counts and putting away deliveries.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching to team members and contribute to a high-performing team.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, mathematical reasoning, and problem resolution abilities.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks, pivot between duties, and confirm prescription accuracy.
- Physical ability to lift, scan, and bag items, as well as remain upright for extended periods.
- Preferred: 1+ years of experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Preferred: Ability to become immunization certified and proficiency in Microsoft Suite.

- This is an on-site, part-time role based in Dallas, Texas.
- The internship follows a rolling term.
