About the role#
As a 3rd year Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role provides hands-on experience with store, district, and regional operations while preparing you for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Follow company Standard Operating Procedures and pharmacy workflow at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Provide patient care by offering immunizations, performing point-of-care testing, and fielding medical questions under pharmacist supervision.
- Solicit medical history from patients and clarify prescriptions with prescribers.
- Coach and mentor pharmacy team members while sharing best practices.
- Manage inventory tasks like putting away deliveries and completing cycle counts.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions while documenting patient information.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- At least 1 year of experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to work nights and weekends, and travel to other store locations within the market.
- Capability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally and 10 lbs frequently.
- Strong verbal communication, active listening, and mathematical reasoning skills.
- Ability to maintain focus, pivot between tasks, and remain mobile for extended periods.
