About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will follow a comprehensive training roadmap designed to prepare you for a future role as a Pharmacist. This position provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations while you assist the pharmacy team in daily tasks. You will gain hands-on experience through key learning activities and time spent with district leadership.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and workflow procedures at production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off stations.
- Ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Provide caring service and demonstrate empathy when interacting with patients and colleagues.
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete inventory activities such as putting away deliveries and conducting cycle counts.
- Deliver patient health care services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing, where permitted by law.
- Educate patients on vaccines and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Maintain pharmacy compliance with laws, regulations, and patient privacy standards.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Availability for regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete training within the designated timeframe.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- At least 1 year of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to pivot between tasks and maintain focus on prescription accuracy.
- Mathematical skills to solve problems, such as calculating tablet counts and day supplies.
- Willingness to become immunization certified and work at other store locations within the market.

- Pay Range: $20.00 - $23.75 per hour.
