About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world pharmacy operations. You will follow a structured training roadmap to gain experience across store, district, and regional levels. This role focuses on supporting pharmacy teams while preparing you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Follow company standard operating procedures to help pharmacists and technicians improve patient health.
- Manage pharmacy workflow at various stations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide caring service and show empathy to contribute to positive patient experiences.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details or facilitate changes.
- Provide coaching and training to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory tasks like cycle counts and putting away deliveries.
- Deliver health care services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing, where permitted.
- Educate patients about vaccines and monitor for potential adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or the ability to obtain it.
- Availability for regular, predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Preferred: 1+ years of experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Preferred: Ability to become immunization certified and work across multiple locations in the market.
- Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
