About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap that covers store, district, and regional operations. This role focuses on gaining hands-on experience to prepare you for a future Pharmacist position.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap.
- Assist the pharmacy team with prescription fulfillment to ensure operations run safely and accurately.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by offering caring service.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Maintain pharmacy SOPs and best practices.
- Perform basic inventory tasks like cycle counts and restocking.
- Deliver patient health care services, including immunizations, and monitor for adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- At least 1 year of work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Flexibility to work at your home store and travel to other locations within the market.
