About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to support a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment. You will gain professional experience by assisting with patient care, pharmacy operations, and team collaboration. This position is part-time and operates on a rolling basis.
What you'll do#
- Model company values and demonstrate authentic care for patients.
- Participate in patient safety initiatives and professional pharmacy practice.
- Follow regulatory requirements and quality assurance standards.
- Manage pharmacy workflow, excluding final prescription verification.
- Handle customer service duties and inventory management.
- Adopt and manage patient care programs to keep patients healthy.
- Lead with empathy and compassion for patients, caregivers, and colleagues.
- Collaborate with the team to promote a culture of energy, enthusiasm, and pride.
- Provide patient immunizations once state regulations are met.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- 0-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to complete all required training within state guidelines.
- Physical ability to remain upright for extended periods, reach overhead, and perform finger dexterity tasks.
- Ability to lift, scan, and bag items, including occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.
- Ability to stoop and use back muscles to move items between low and high positions.
- Visual acuity for reading, transcribing, and viewing computer terminals.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
