About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to show you the operations of a pharmacy team. You will gain hands-on experience through key learning activities and time spent with district leadership. This role prepares you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap and follow company SOPs at every workstation.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely, accurately, and promptly.
- Provide caring service and address patient needs at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and facilitate medication changes where allowed.
- Maintain self-awareness and provide coaching to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities such as cycle counts and putting away deliveries.
- Deliver health care services including immunizations and point-of-care testing.
- Educate patients on vaccines and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws and ethical principles.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- At least 1 year of work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work at your home store and travel to other locations within the market.

- Employment: Part-time, rolling term.
- Compensation: $20.50 - $24.25 per hour.
