About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to support the operations of a retail pharmacy. You help maintain a safe environment while delivering care to patients. This role involves managing patient care programs, supporting workflow, and contributing to a positive team culture. You will gain professional experience while working toward your career goals in the pharmacy field.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective pharmacy environment.
- Deliver care to patients and manage patient care programs.
- Display empathy and compassion when interacting with patients, customers, and colleagues.
- Collaborate with the team to improve outcomes and promote a culture of energy and pride.
- Provide patient immunizations once you meet state regulations.
- Complete required training and maintain necessary licensure.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- 0-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work a schedule that includes nights and weekends.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, reach overhead, and perform tasks requiring finger dexterity.
- Visual acuity for reading, transcribing, and viewing computer terminals.
