About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences (KLEs). This role prepares you for future pharmacist responsibilities by providing an overview of store, district, and regional operations.
What you'll do#
- Support pharmacy teams to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations.
- Provide caring service to patients, including counseling and fielding medical questions.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers.
- Perform basic inventory activities, such as processing medication deliveries and cycle counts.
- Deliver health care services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing, upon obtaining Technician Immunizer status.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Travel to other stores within the market to work shifts as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required by state regulations.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Strong attention to detail to confirm prescription accuracy and pivot between tasks.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including active listening.
- Mathematical reasoning skills for calculating medication dosages and supplies.
- Ability to identify and resolve challenging patient or colleague interactions.
- 1+ years of experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is preferred.
- Ability to become immunization certified is preferred.

- Compensation: $20.00 - $23.75 per hour.
