About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will follow a comprehensive training roadmap designed to prepare you for a future role as a Pharmacist. This position involves working under the direction of a preceptor to gain hands-on experience with store, district, and regional operations.
What you'll do#
- Complete a structured training roadmap and key learning experiences.
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily operations to ensure prescriptions are filled safely, accurately, and promptly.
- Operate pharmacy workstations including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide patient care by offering immunizations, point-of-care testing, and education on vaccine importance.
- Field medical questions and offer counseling under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers.
- Manage basic inventory tasks, such as cycle counts and restocking medication deliveries.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to team members.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- At least 1 year of work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to work in your home store and travel to other locations within the market.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Strong focus, attention to detail, and the ability to pivot between tasks quickly.
- Mathematical skills for calculating prescription dosages and supplies.
- Ability to identify and resolve challenging patient or colleague interactions.

- Employment: Part-time, rolling term.
- Compensation: $20.50 - $24.25 per hour.
