About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role prepares you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist by providing hands-on experience with store, district, and regional operations.
What you'll do#
- Support pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on our brand promise.
- Ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly by following Standard Operating Procedures.
- Fill prescriptions promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Provide caring service and contribute to a high-performing team.
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under pharmacist supervision.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers.
- Complete basic inventory activities.
- Deliver patient health care services, including immunizations where allowable.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into or active enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete required training within a designated timeframe.
- Strong focus and the ability to pivot quickly between tasks.
- Ability to confirm prescription information and label accuracy.
- Mathematical skills to solve pharmacy-related problems.
- Ability to identify challenging interactions and choose the best course of action.
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service is preferred.
- Ability to become immunization certified is preferred.
- Ability to work in your home store and across the market is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is preferred.
