About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap, gaining an overview of store, district, and regional operations. This role prepares you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist while you support pharmacy teams in delivering consistent care.
What you'll do#
- Support pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on the brand promise.
- Assist in pharmacy operations to ensure smooth functionality and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by providing empathetic and caring service.
- Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Follow standard operating procedures at each workstation to help manage and improve patient health.
- Offer counseling, field medical questions, and solicit medical history information under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Maintain self-awareness and provide coaching or mentoring to team members.
- Perform basic inventory activities such as cycle counts and medication deliveries.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into or active enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or progress toward obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including availability for nights and weekends.
- Ability to pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to use math to solve problems related to prescription dispensing.
- Physical ability to remain mobile for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
