About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining experience in store, district, and regional operations. This role is designed to prepare you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Support pharmacy teams to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely, accurately, and promptly.
- Follow standard operating procedures and pharmacy workflow at workstations including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide caring service and show empathy to contribute to positive patient experiences.
- Offer immunizations, counsel patients, and field medical questions under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and coordinate with prescribers to clarify medication needs.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to other pharmacy team members.
- Complete inventory tasks such as processing deliveries, cycle counts, and returns.
- Deliver health care services, including point-of-care testing and offsite clinic support.
- Obtain Technician Immunizer status to prepare and administer vaccines, educate patients on vaccine importance, and monitor for adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- At least 1 year of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to become immunization certified and work at your home store or other locations within the market.
- Strong focus, attention to detail, and the ability to pivot between tasks quickly.
- Mathematical skills to solve problems related to prescription dispensing.
- Ability to identify challenging interactions and determine the best course of action.

- Compensation: $20.00 - $23.75 per hour.
