About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will bridge the gap between your pharmacy school education and real-world practice. You will follow a comprehensive training roadmap designed to prepare you for a future role as a Pharmacist. This position requires you to work as part of a team, follow Standard Operating Procedures, and contribute to the daily operations of the pharmacy.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide caring service to patients, including fielding medical questions and soliciting information on medical history under pharmacist supervision.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication changes.
- Complete basic inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns, and stocking medication deliveries.
- Support immunizations where permissible by law, including educating patients and monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required by state regulations.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including availability for nights and weekends.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks for extended periods and pivot quickly between responsibilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to practice active listening.
- Mathematical reasoning skills to calculate dosages and supply quantities.
- Ability to identify and resolve challenging interactions with patients or colleagues.
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to become immunization certified and travel to other locations within the market as needed.

- Compensation: $20.00 - $23.75 per hour.
