About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice. You will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to show you what it is like to be part of a pharmacy team while gaining an overview of store, district, and regional operations. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to prepare for your future role as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation.
- Provide caring service and contribute to positive patient experiences.
- Offer to counsel, field medical questions, and take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities like cycle counts and putting away medication deliveries.
- Comply with all laws, regulations, and ethical principles to ensure patient safety and privacy.
- Deliver patient health care services including immunizations and point-of-care testing.
- Educate patients about vaccines and monitor for or respond to adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- At least 1 year of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to work in your home store and travel to other locations across the market as needed.

- This role is based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
- The position is on-site and part-time with a rolling term.
