About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education into real-world practice. You will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to show you pharmacy operations at the store, district, and regional levels. This role focuses on developing your clinical skills and preparing you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist under the direction of a preceptor.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Ensure prescriptions are filled accurately and safely.
- Provide empathetic service to patients, including fielding medical questions and offering counseling under pharmacist supervision.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Perform basic inventory tasks like cycle counts and managing medication deliveries.
- Deliver health services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing where permitted.
- Educate patients on vaccine importance and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws regarding pharmacy practice and patient privacy.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including availability for nights and weekends.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks, pivot between duties, and perform accurate dispensing calculations.
- Strong problem-solving skills for managing challenging interactions.
- Preferred: 1+ years of experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service.
- Preferred: Ability to become immunization certified and work across multiple locations in the market.
- Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.

- Pay range: $20.50 - $24.25 per hour.
