About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice. You will complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences to prepare for a future Pharmacist role. This position involves working under the direction of a preceptor to gain experience in store, district, and regional operations.
What you'll do#
- Support pharmacy teams with prescription fulfillment and pharmacy operations to ensure they run safely and accurately.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures at every workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide caring service and patient counseling while documenting patient information.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Perform inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns, and managing medication deliveries.
- Deliver patient health care services including immunizations and point-of-care testing where allowable by law.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to team members as you gain experience.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into or active enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- At least 1 year of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to work at your home store and travel to other locations in the market as needed.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Lino Lakes, Minnesota.
- This is a part-time, on-site position.
- The role is paid, with a typical pay range of $20.50 to $24.25 per hour.
