About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences, to prepare for a future Pharmacist role. This position involves gaining an overview of store, district, and regional operations while contributing to a high-performing pharmacy team.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly, safely, and accurately.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide caring service to patients, including offering immunizations and other services.
- Counsel patients and field medical questions under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as processing deliveries and cycle counts.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions, where permissible.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- At least 1 year of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to complete training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong focus, attention to detail, and the ability to pivot between tasks quickly.
- Mathematical skills for tasks like calculating day's supply and tablet counting.
- Ability to travel to other store locations within the market as needed.
- Commitment to becoming immunization certified.

- Pay Range: $20.00 - $23.75 per hour.
