About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will follow a structured training roadmap designed to prepare you for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist. This role involves gaining hands-on experience with pharmacy operations while working under the direction of a preceptor.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by offering empathy and care during interactions at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete inventory activities such as cycle counts and returns.
- Deliver patient health care services including immunizations and point-of-care testing, upon completing required training and licensure.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and privacy standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- At least 1 year of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Flexibility to work in your home store and travel to other locations within the market as needed.
