About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will follow a comprehensive training roadmap designed to prepare you for a future role as a Pharmacist. This position provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations while you assist the pharmacy team in delivering patient care.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap and gain hands-on experience under the direction of a preceptor.
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily operations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off workflows.
- Ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while following company SOPs.
- Provide patient care by offering to counsel, fielding medical questions, and taking telephonic prescriptions from prescribers under pharmacist supervision.
- Deliver health services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing where permitted by law.
- Support immunization efforts by preparing and administering vaccines, educating patients, and monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Complete inventory activities, including putting away deliveries and performing cycle counts.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to team members and contribute to a positive, inclusive team environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance to an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Physical ability to remain upright for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
- 1+ years of experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings is preferred.
- Ability to become immunization certified is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is preferred.
- Willingness to work in your home store and travel to other locations within the market as needed.

- Compensation: $20.50 - $24.25 per hour.
