About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap, gaining an overview of pharmacy operations while preparing for future responsibilities as a pharmacist. This role focuses on supporting pharmacy teams, ensuring safe and accurate prescription fulfillment, and providing caring service to patients.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily operations, including prescription fulfillment and processing.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focused on Key Learning Experiences.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Support immunizations by educating patients and monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as company standard operating procedures.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required.
- Ability to work a part-time schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Proficiency in mathematical reasoning for prescription calculations.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs.
