About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap, gaining experience in store, district, and regional operations. This role focuses on developing your clinical and technical skills to prepare you for a future as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Support pharmacy teams by following standard operating procedures and workflow protocols including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Ensure safe, accurate prescription fulfillment and maintain patient privacy.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and care during interactions.
- Counsel patients and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and clarify details with prescribers.
- Deliver patient health care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing where permitted.
- Complete basic inventory activities, including cycle counts and stocking medication deliveries.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members as your tenure increases.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Prior experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is preferred.
- Ability to become immunization certified is preferred.

- Compensation: This is a paid position with a pay range of $20.00 to $23.75 per hour.
