About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic pharmacy school learning to real-world practice. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap focused on Key Learning Experiences. This role provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations while preparing you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap and follow all company Standard Operating Procedures at each workstation.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely, accurately, and promptly.
- Provide caring service and contribute to a safe, inclusive environment for patients and colleagues.
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and facilitate medication changes where allowed by state regulation.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members as your experience increases.
- Complete basic inventory activities, including cycle counts and putting away medication deliveries.
- Deliver patient health care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where permitted by law.
- Educate patients about vaccines and monitor for potential adverse reactions.
- Remain flexible for scheduling needs and be willing to work at different locations within the market.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or acceptance to an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- 1+ years of experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings is preferred.
- Ability to become immunization certified is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is preferred.
- Ability to work in your home store and travel to other locations in the market as needed.

- Location: Rockwall, Texas.
- This is a part-time, on-site position.
- The role is paid and follows a rolling term.
