About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to prepare you for a future role as a Pharmacist. This program provides hands-on experience across store, district, and regional operations while you support the pharmacy team in delivering quality care.
What you'll do#
- Support pharmacy operations including prescription fulfillment and workflow tasks like production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Counsel patients, field medical questions, and solicit medical history under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Process telephonic prescriptions and communicate with prescribers.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and care.
- Offer immunizations and other health services to patients.
- Prepare and administer vaccines if properly licensed and trained, and monitor for adverse reactions.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Perform inventory activities such as cycle counts and processing returns.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, company SOPs, and patient privacy requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Flexibility to work at your home store and travel to other locations within the market.
- At least 1 year of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings is preferred.
