About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic pharmacy school learning into real-world practice. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to prepare you for a future Pharmacist role. You will gain hands-on experience with store, district, and regional operations while supporting the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and patients receive accurate, timely care.
What you'll do#
- Complete a structured training roadmap including Key Learning Experiences.
- Assist with prescription fulfillment, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off workflows.
- Provide caring service by fielding medical questions, offering counseling, and taking telephonic prescriptions from prescribers.
- Support immunization services, including patient education, documentation, and monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Perform inventory activities such as putting away deliveries, cycle counts, and returns.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to team members and contribute to a high-performing environment.
- Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures and federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain flexibility in scheduling and travel to other store locations in the market as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- At least 1 year of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Strong communication skills, including active listening and the ability to exchange detailed information.
- Mathematical skills for calculating dosages and supply needs.
- Ability to pivot between tasks, maintain focus, and solve problems in patient interactions.
- Physical ability to remain upright for extended periods, reach, stoop, and lift up to 20 lbs.
- Regular attendance, including nights and weekends.

- Pay Range: $20.50 - $24.25 per hour.
