About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will complete a comprehensive training roadmap focused on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs) while working under the direction of a preceptor. This role prepares you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist by providing a clear view of store, district, and regional pharmacy operations.
What you'll do#
- Support pharmacy teams to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely, accurately, and promptly.
- Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at every workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Provide caring service to patients, including fielding medical questions and offering to counsel under pharmacist supervision.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify information as needed.
- Deliver patient health care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, while monitoring for and responding to adverse reactions.
- Assist with inventory tasks like cycle counts and processing returns.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members as your experience grows.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or acceptance to an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to work nights and weekends as required by the business.
- Strong attention to detail to confirm prescription accuracy and ensure patient safety.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs.
Preferred qualifications include:
- At least 1 year of experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Flexibility to work in your home store and travel to other locations within the market.

- This is a part-time, paid position.
- The role follows a rolling term structure and requires on-site work.
