About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education into real-world practice. You will follow a comprehensive training roadmap designed to help you prepare for a future role as a Pharmacist. This program provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations while you support our pharmacy teams in delivering patient care.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment at all workstations.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, fielding medical questions, and taking telephonic prescriptions from prescribers under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Deliver patient health care services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing, while educating patients on the importance of vaccines and monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members to share best practices.
- Complete basic inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns, and medication deliveries.
- Demonstrate flexibility for scheduling and business needs, including working across different locations in the market.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required by state regulations.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and remain mobile for extended periods.
- Preferred: 1+ years of experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Preferred: Ability to become immunization certified and proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
