About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role provides hands-on experience with pharmacy operations while preparing you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily operations and ensure prescriptions are filled safely, accurately, and promptly.
- Follow standard operating procedures and best practices to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Provide patient care by offering counseling, fielding medical questions, and taking telephonic prescriptions.
- Facilitate medication changes and communicate with prescribers as permitted by law.
- Perform inventory tasks such as cycle counts and returns.
- Support immunization services by reviewing patient information, monitoring for adverse reactions, and administering vaccines where allowable.
- Coach and train pharmacy team members.
- Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws, including privacy regulations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Ability to maintain regular, predictable attendance including nights and weekends.
- Strong focus and the ability to pivot between tasks quickly.
- Mathematical reasoning skills for calculating dosages and supplies.
- Effective problem resolution skills.
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings is preferred.
- Ability to become immunization certified is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is preferred.
- Ability to work at your home store and travel to other locations across the market as needed.

- Pay Range: $21.25 - $25.00 per hour.
