About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to provide care to patients. You will help maintain a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment while supporting our goal of improving health outcomes. This role involves direct interaction with patients, caregivers, and your pharmacy team.
What you'll do#
- Deliver care and customer service to patients.
- Manage pharmacy inventory and workflow, excluding final prescription verification.
- Perform quality assurance tasks and follow regulatory requirements.
- Adopt and manage patient care programs.
- Provide patient immunizations once you meet state regulations.
- Collaborate with the team to promote a culture of caring and enthusiasm.
- Display empathy for patients, customers, and colleagues.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or in the process of obtaining one.
- 0-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to complete all required training within state guidelines.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, reach overhead, stoop, and lift up to 20 lbs.
- Visual acuity for tasks like reading, computer work, and visual inspection.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and immunization eligibility are preferred.
