About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining experience in store, district, and regional operations. This role focuses on developing your clinical and technical skills to prepare you for a future as a Pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap and follow company SOPs at every workstation.
- Manage pharmacy workflow procedures, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Handle basic inventory tasks such as cycle counts and returns-to-stocks.
- Deliver health services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing.
- Educate patients on vaccines and monitor for potential adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure as required by state regulations.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including availability for nights and weekends.
- Strong focus and the ability to pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient needs.
- Proficiency in confirming prescription information and label accuracy.
- Ability to use math to solve problems, such as calculating dosages and day supplies.
- Skill in identifying challenging interactions and choosing the best course of action.

- Location: Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Employment Type: Part-time.
- Compensation: $20.50 - $24.25 per hour.
