About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to prepare you for a future role as a pharmacist. You will gain hands-on experience by assisting the pharmacy team with daily operations, ensuring that patient prescriptions are filled accurately and safely while providing caring service.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences and time spent with district leaders.
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily operations, following all company standard operating procedures and workflow protocols.
- Fill prescriptions promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Provide caring service to patients, including fielding medical questions and offering to counsel under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and clarify medication details with prescribers.
- Support immunizations by educating patients, reviewing information, and potentially administering vaccines once certified.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching and mentoring to team members.
- Perform basic inventory tasks, such as processing medication deliveries, cycle counts, and returns.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- At least 1 year of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to work in your home store and travel to other locations across the market as needed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Strong attention to detail, mathematical reasoning skills, and the ability to pivot between tasks quickly.

- Pay Range: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour.
