About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to support the daily operations of our retail pharmacy. You will assist in delivering patient care, maintaining a safe work environment, and managing pharmacy workflows. This role offers the chance to apply your pharmaceutical education in a practical setting while gaining experience in patient interaction and clinical services.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective pharmacy environment while delivering care to patients.
- Perform patient safety activities and quality assurance tasks.
- Manage pharmacy inventory and daily workflow, excluding final prescription verification.
- Adopt and manage patient care programs to support customer health.
- Lead with empathy and compassion for patients, caregivers, and your team.
- Facilitate a positive team culture focused on collaboration and energy.
- Provide patient immunizations once you meet the necessary state regulations.
- Adhere to all regulatory requirements and complete required training within specified timeframes.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- 0-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
- Availability to work a schedule that includes nights and weekends.
- Immunization eligibility.
